St. Paul School “Lights, Camera, Auction!” Gala
The St. Paul School “Lights, Camera, Auction!” Gala was held on March 4, 2017 in the Grande Ballroom at the Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack and Resort. The Hollywood theme was noticeable throughout the room and the beautiful centerpieces helped bring the theme to life. The event was attended by around 185 family and friends of St. Paul School who helped bring in around $20,000 for the school’s operating budget!
The Family Traditions Award was given out for the fourth year. This year the honorees were Mr. and Mrs. Paul and Jeannie Duffy for the steadfast support they have provided to St. Paul School. They received a lovely decorative Celtic cross. Their granddaughter, Mrs. Stephanie Zimmer, gave a moving acceptance speech on their behalf.
Tamara’s Camera was on hand to document the evening. They captured some wonderful images throughout the evening. Attendees enjoyed a dinner of either prime rib or chicken florentine, garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The delicious desserts were three different flavored mousses made by Mr. Matt Marshall of A Touch of Elegance Bakery and Cafe. After dinner and the Family Traditions Award was handed out everyone got to enjoy the music of Legend who performed until the end of the event.
The $1,000 prize was won by Mr. Guy Holmes, who generously donated the money back to St. Paul School! There was also the opportunity to buy a duck for the chance to win up to $250. The big winner was Mr. Chuck Robinson who donated a portion of his winnings back to the school as well.
Thanks to generous donations from St. Paul School families, friends and businesses the Gala was able to have over 70 items available for the Chinese, Silent, and Live auction.! Mr. Spencer Thomas offered his auction computer program and it greatly eased the auction preparation and process.
St. Paul School thanks the following sponsors: Elite: MommaGrizzly Fitness, Gold: Professional Tire and Alignment, Silver: Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home and JT Sauer and Associates, Bronze: Trinity Health System and First Choice America Federal Credit Union. The Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston contributed with the printing of flyers, tickets, and the program. The support from all of our sponsors and donors is extremely appreciated and the Gala could not have been a success without their help along with the generosity of those who attended!
Thank you to the sponsors for the 2017 Gala!
