Moonlight Masquerade St. Paul 2019 Gala
Thanks to all who supported our 2019 Moonlight Masquerade Gala! We had a blessing ceremony Tuesday, April 23rd, for OUR NEW SWING SET! Thank you!!!
The St. Paul School “Moonlight Masquerade” Gala was held on Saturday, March 9, 2019, in the Grand Ballroom at Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort. The “Masquerade” theme was evident by a large, hand-painted mask at the entrance. This year’s Gala was a record-breaking event, as there were over 300 guests, and we raised $48,140. The proceeds will be used to purchase and install a brand new swing set for our students, new religion curriculum for all grades, and our “Catholic Schools of Weirton” media campaign.
The “Family Traditions” Award was presented for the sixth year. Our Honoree was Mr. Charles “Chuck” Robinson. The Robinson family accepted the award in Chuck’s honor. Sons Jeffrey, Jason, and Jared all spoke on behalf of their late father.
Thanks to a wonderfully supportive community and generous donations, there were over 120 items available for the Chinese, Silent and Live auctions. Our live auction included a $1,000 tuition credit to St. Paul School, a scenic airplane ride around Pittsburgh, a framed & autographed Mario Lemieux jersey, a chef prepared dinner in your home, a live drawing by international artist Tempy Moore, and a week long trip to Maui!
Auction software was generously donated by Mr. Spencer Thomas. Auctioneer services were generously donated by Mr. Bennie Parr. Event photography was generously donated by Newbrough Photo. Thank you!

Once Upon A Time St. Paul 2018 Gala
The St. Paul School “Once Upon a Time Gala was held on March 3, 2018 in the Grande Ballroom at the Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack and Resort. The storybook theme was noticeable as soon as you arrived and the beautiful centerpieces helped bring the theme to life. The event was attended by 210 family and friends of St. Paul School who helped bring in over $25,000 for the school’s operating budget!
The Family Traditions Award was given out for the fifth year. This year the honorees were Mrs. Veronica Kobulnicky and Mrs. Andrea Vrtar for their longstanding support they have provided to St. Paul School. They each received a lovely decorative Celtic cross. Mr. Gregory Kobulnicky and Ms. Christine Vrtar did the introductions for their mothers.
Newbrough’s Photo was on hand to document the evening. They captured some wonderful images throughout the evening. Attendees enjoyed a dinner of either prime rib or drunken chicken, garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. After dinner was finished and the Family Traditions Award was handed out everyone got to enjoy the music of The Original Fantasys who performed until the end of the event. The $1,000 prize was won by Mrs. Donna Bohach, who generously donated the money back to St. Paul School!
Thanks to generous donations from St. Paul School families, friends and businesses the Gala was able to have over 90 items available for the Chinese, Silent, and Live auction! Mr. Spencer Thomas offered his auction computer program and it greatly eased the auction preparation and process.
St. Paul School thanks the following sponsors: Elite: Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, James White Construction, and Weirton Medical Center Gold: Professional Tire and Alignment, Silver: Trinity Health System, Bronze: First Choice America Federal Credit Union, Guida Law Offices, JT Sauer and Associates, Nikki A.
