At SPS Literacy Lab, our mission is to ignite a love for reading and writing in our students. To accomplish this, we introduce them to a wide variety of texts across different genres.
- Young Readers: They enjoy engaging weekly Storytime sessions.
- Older Students: They delve into book studies, explore author highlights, and participate in numerous creative writing activities and projects.
St. Paul’s is fortunate to have a well-equipped library that caters to readers of all levels, promoting a passion for literature, and we are continuously enhancing our collection! We believe that encouraging a supportive and inspiring environment is key to developing confident and enthusiastic readers and writers. Mrs. Enos works closely with students, providing personalized guidance and encouragement to help them find their unique voices and interests.
Additionally, we host a variety of events such as book fairs and writing workshops to further enrich our students’ literacy journey. These events not only broaden their horizons but also create a sense of open and shared excitement about the world of books.
Whether through the joy of discovering a new favorite author or the thrill of crafting their own stories, our students at SPS Literacy Lab are on a path to becoming lifelong learners and storytellers. We are proud to be a part of their journey and look forward to seeing them flourish in their literary accomplishments. By adopting a collaborative and dynamic learning environment, we encourage our students to share their insights and creativity with their peers. This collaboration not only enhances their own understanding but also improves a supportive network where ideas can be exchanged freely.
Our commitment to literacy extends beyond the classroom. We encourage families to be actively involved in their child’s reading journey. This partnership between school and home creates a consistent and encouraging atmosphere that reinforces the importance of literacy in everyday life.
In January students in K through 6th will be participating in READBowl, a global reading competition. In March St. Paul School will host a schoolwide book study and reading of The Wild Robot by Peter Brown.
